Echo Show (v1) Skill Templates

Project Goal:

To create a series of visual templates that would allow third-party (3P) developers to add GUI output to their skill's responses on the Echo Show. The templates also needed to be consistent with the CX and interaction patterns already established on the device.

Project Deliverables:

6 Display Render templates, including 2 list templates (vertical and horizontal) with multiple variations.

Summary:

I was brought onto this project 6 weeks prior to the scheduled device launch. I immediately took over ownership of the initial template design from another design studio and completed all required changes, bug fixes, and design modifications as a result of QA and user testing.

I was also responsible for working one-on-one with 8 “Hero Skill” partners to design and develop their skills, including voice design for device launch. I provided each 3P developer with high-fidelity mocks and the required visual assets to build their skill, while working side-by-side with a Voice Designer to provide GUI and VUI feedback.

Skills included: Allrecipes, Bloomberg, Capital One, CNN, Fandango, Jeopardy!, OpenTable, and Uber.
